July's BaconHead of Da Month - "Alliance" Style

Da All New & Improved BaconHead of da Month Award for da month of July was an absolute slam-dunk. Da TruthTellers were unanimous on this one, with good reason.

This month saw da end of da 4 year old "Alliance" between current and former Manalapan Mayor Andy Boy and former Mayor Da Queen and their handlers. Born out of da need to keep power within a certain small group, da always "alleged" alliance allowed da Queen and Andy Boy to be mayor in 3 of those 4 years, and allowed both to try to achieve higher office, however with both of their campaigns failing miserably in defeat.

There are those who knew of da alliance and would not admit to its being. There are those who knew of it yet turned a blind eye to it. There are also those who did well within it. And, there are also those who blogged about it, such as daTruthSquad, and received much rebuke, and even da famous 2007 First Amendment Lawsuit from those who were a part of it.

It ended, as we see it, because one side saw a distinct window of advantage and as the old phrase goes, "Absolute power corrupts absolutely," decided to go for broke and make a run at complete political party dominance in Manalapan, while the other side was either blinded by power, or just simply didn't see da Pearl Harbor job coming their way, executed flawlessly by Team Andy Boy.

Which leads us to da coveted BaconHead Award.

Da end of da Alliance has left Team Da Queen in tatters. Her supporting cast at da so-called "Hate" website are all either on vacation, having a longer-than-expected lunch get-together, or are simply just too stunned beyond words to even discuss what has happened. For da first time since 2004, da Queen is now on da outside looking in, and has come to discover that she now has a lot less friends in Manalapan Town Hall on da Township Committee that she can truly stand beside. Her political party and their "Capo di Tutti Capi" are staring at da potential of having a united and all-of-one-mind 3 person majority if da GOP'ers win in November, and a possible 5-person super majority by 2012. And, one has to wonder how da Capo allowed himself to have da wool pulled over his eyes on this one?

Well, like da old phrase, "In for a penny, in for a Pound," da Queen and her court went all-in with this alliance, and in da end, she got steamrolled by it.

One has to admit while it lasted, it both gave a certain few nearly absolute power to do what they pleased in political circles, but also at a cost dragged da town of Manalapan through some very deep and thick mud that people have not forgotten.

Republican power in Manalapan seems to have shifted from da Manalapan GOP'ers club to da old-guard Yorktowne Club. Da Queen's supporters all seem to be on da same fishing boat somewhere off da coast, because they are nowhere to be found, and their faces have yet to be found on any milk cartons.

And, with lawsuits of da retaliatory type filed by da Mosked Man against da town for what da Manalapan Legal Dream Team tried and failed miserably to do to him, coupled with da now-infamous "Lady-Gate" situation with highly decorated Manalapan Police Chief Stu Brown who has filed a defamation case of his own against da Queen and da Township, it seems da Queen will get taxpayer-funded no-limit legal support, but that may be all da support she will be getting.

It seems her desire to stand up against a town budget she didn't believe in was da lynchpin (There's that name "Lynch" again) that allowed da GOP'ers to sever da alliance and caught da Queen - and especially her handlers whose job it is to watch her back - completely off guard.

Now, da Queen's Capo di Tutti Capi, da Boss of All Bosses Gerry "One Bourbon, One Shot and One Beer" Ward will lead his own Manalapan Democratic Party into an election with candidates who have as much name recognition as a "Smith" in da New York City phone directory. Da capo and da Queen now faces a Manalapan Republican party that is probably more dominant that they have been in da last 15-20 years that we can remember, ever since da days of a town overseen by Jimmy Gray. And, da Queen's "Information Superhighway" has been left at da side of da highway, with no friendly ear at da Snoozepaper anymore to depend upon.

Now, this is not to say that da Queen of Manalapan isn't someone who you should just step on and laugh it. To be fair, one has to remember that while a much larger former Manalapan mayor is quite known for carry around a shovel, it is da Queen who knows where many political "bodies are buried." Da question is - will she start telling people about those bodies? And, are there real stories to tell?

For now, however, her political situation has left her with not too many friends, an uncertain future in Manalapan politics, and with a devastating loss in last year's New Jersey State Assembly to carry around with her like an albatross, her overall political future is in doubt too.

Now, while she must bear some of da fault here, you have to seriously question where da Capo of da Manalapan Democrats was when da alliance began to crumble? Da ending of da alliance was clearly not a split second decision. It was in da opinion of some planned over time, and he was obviously on that fishing boat when da plans were made because he never saw it coming.

Unfortunately for da Queen, while da Capo has no egg on his face, da Queen is da one left wearing da hat of shame as da public face of humiliation. And, while there were some who believed da Queen should be da next recipient of da coveted BaconHead Award, it's clear she is da victim here of someone else's failures.

Therefore, to be fair, we cannot give da coveted BaconHead Award to someone who was clearly a victim of not having her back watched. We at daTruthSquad must give da BaconHead to da person who not only dropped da ball, but kicked it down da sewer and fiddled while da Queen was left to be da scapegoat.

So, for being completely played da fool by his opposition party and being unbelievably naive enough for allowing da alliance to fall to pieces and placing your own political group in da potential position of being completely swept out of office within da next 17 months, and for allowing da Queen of Manalapan to twist in da wind as da face of da now-failed alliance, our choice for BaconHead of da Month is as clear as an empty bottle of "Jack Daniels."

For da month of July, daTruithSquad's BaconHead Award is bestowed on none other than Manalapan's Democratic Party Boss -- da Capo di Tutti Capi, da Boss of All Bosses Gerry "One Bourbon, One Shot and One Beer" Ward!

Hey Yorktown Club! Name all black members please! Can't? I wonder why???

I always knew that Roth and Lucas's power sharing plan would come to an end sooner or later. You are right that Ward didn't have Roth's back on this. Maybe its time for new leadership fo the Manalapan Democrats.

Classic!

I was recently reading a story on the EFF website about you and the case you were involved in. As a fellow anonymous blogger I salute you and your courage.

I love this BaconHead Award. How did you come up with this? Great work.

Off topic but can anyone give me the lowdown on William I. Scherer. The City of Plainfield may hire him as its CFO.

If his comments on the HATE site are any indication on his general demeanor as an individual, Gerry Ward sounds to be, at best, someone who is uncouth, and at worst, someone who is in dire need of anger management classes. Every time he posts, he uses the word "scumbag." I wonder if he kisses his mother with that mouth.

I don't always agree with this blog site or this blogger (my First Amendment right), but in this case I will make an exception. Every town has someone like a Gery Ward in it, someone who leads a political party and may be although I do not know the man someone who likes power. In this case, person who was run over by the bus was the Queen, who I take to be Michelle Roth. She is the face of his party, and now thanks to him it seems she is the one with egg all over her face. Sad, but in my town of Cranford, we have the same issues too.

Our town has Stephen "Threaten Manalapan's most popular conmmitteeperson Susan Cohen to keep her from running for reelection" McEnery. We have an ethics lawbreaker Andrew Lucas as our mayor. We have Michelle "Acuse the cheif of police of sexual harrassment even though he did not do what she accused him of" Roth We have Larry "..Is it because I hate Italians" Roth And we have many township attorneys advising these people it is OK to break the law. This is just scratching the surface of Manalapan corruption.

OK, your turn, how many assholes does your town have?

Anonymous said...

OK. I admit your town has it worse with politics. We have some colorful people, but nowhere near as interesting as your "Queen" "Capo" and others. BTW, don't blame us, but from what I read of the case against the daTruth Squad, you have more than one lawyer from the Cranford area under your employ.

Aren't there any corrupt lawyers in your area?

Nothing against your choice of Ward, but if anyone deserves a Baconhead, it's Roth.

To answer someone's question, I may be wrong, but I thought the former editor of the News Transcript once called the DTS a Bacon Head, which is where the award was hatched from. I bet Greg bean regrets that one.

I read the Transcript again now that Kathy Barata left. I find what Greg Beans for brains writes are stupid and moronic. They are waisting there money on him.

Joey D should write a column at the News Transcript.

I love how Fred Stone and Kathy Baratta are going off at the Hate Site - as we speak - again blaming this very blog and the comments contained therein as words by Stu Moskovitz, and again without one iota of proof that their allegations have some semblance of truth. I have news for them: there are plenty more people in Manalapan, other than Stu Moskovitz, who think that the collection of garbage that we have on the Township Committee, as well as their supporters on the Hate Site, just need to go away. Fred must truly be a mental case because every time someone farts of coughs, he accuses Stu Moskovitz. He needs to get over himself and his unhealthy - and creepy - obsession with Stu.

Re: Aren't there any corrupt lawyers in your area?

You don´t have to look farther than right here under your nose.

If Fred actually had a career left after the SEC cut his corrupt legs out from under him for his amateurish failed attempt to mimic Bernard Madoff, maybe he would have something to do with his life other than obsess over Stu. Fred is a sad little has-been. You have to feel sorry for him, as hateful as he is. He's one more classic example (like the guy in the white house) that not everyone who went to Harvard is all that bright.

Herb Lazar must be so proud to have his name boldly posted for a year as the last member of the hate site. LOL.

Anonymous said...

Speaking of the hate site. I notice George Hartigan was there supporting Gerry Ward and calling being called the bacon head a badge of honor. Hmm. George Hartigan firmly behind Gerry Ward. Wasn't George Hartigan McEnery's hand-picked Republican Vice Municipal Chair? Is there anyone out there who still hasn't figured out what's going on here?

Our corrupt lawyers are the ones that told Lucas it is ok to vote on a resolution in which he had his own attorney paid for with tax money in a case he was a "Defendant." You can't get any more corrupt than that can you?

Oh wait, the attorney telling Roth it is ok to accuse the chief of police of sexual harassment in public session instead of after issuing a "Rice" notice for an "Official" complaint. The attorney should pay her legal bills not the residents.

By the way, it is almost a year later and yet no Official" complaint filed against the chief. Can you spell willing defamation?

Charley Rangel, Maxine Waters, Michelle Roth, Fred Stone, George Spodak, Al Gore, Anthony Weiner....

Is there a Democrat anywhere in this country who thinks that laws and rules of civility apply as much to them as to other people?

Anonymous said...

Nice deflection Lucas! Oddly enough all the attorneys giving you and Roth corrupt advice were and are Republican!

Even the Elected official who told McEnery it is OK to break the law if you think you can beat it in court is a Republican.

Why do you think the TEA Parties started? Why do you think Ross Perot was able to oust Bush one?

You Republicans are very corrupt! Look what you did to your faithful Republican Anna Little. The party bosses chose a no experience wanna be who never did anything without her hubbys money. They told all you lemmings to fall into jack booted lockstep or lose all support in the future. Ask no backbone Halfacre or Beck, Scanlon and Cassagrande.

Clean your own glass house before throwing stones.

You're exactly right on Halfacre. There has never been even a feeble attempt at an explanation for his departure.

"Clean your own glass house before throwing stones."

I believe that if you live in a glass house and throw stones, you are vulnerable to breakage damage whether your glass house is clean or dirty. Highly educated commentators of the type who frequent this wonderful blog must be cautious when mixing cliched metaphors.

Anonymous said...

It seems that Gerri Ward is happy about winning the Squad's Baconhead award. That may be the only thing he wins this year, because winning the local election for his unknown Democratic candidates would be a stretch.

"Lester Synapse said..."

I think the funniest part about all these blogs is that while Fred Stone actually thinks he's being clever, everyone else is actually laughing at his mediocrity, his obsessiveness, his paranoia and his curmudgeonly offensiveness, knowing full well that Fred actually thinks people think his comments are clever. Is it cruel to laugh at Fred's shortcomings, or should we simply justify it as well deserved?

I would much rather win the Baconhead Award than an election. If you win an election, you actually have to govern. If you win the Baconhead, than everone knows you're a gecent person and you don't actually have to do any work to get the prestige!

I have a theory. Andy Boy is more or less a Democrat in Republican's clothing anyway, right? So maybe the real alliance wasn't so much with the Queen, but with Ward? The Democrats are putting up two relatively unknowns who, at at least when it comes to name recognition, have a pretty long shot at beating Andy in the General Election. So, by putting up two unknowns, could this be the Democrat's way of tacitly ensuring Andy Boy's re-election?

Anonymous said...

Did you get your tax bills today? Did they go up? If so vote for the tax cutting Joey D!

Anonymous said...

"Highly educated commentators of the type who frequent this wonderful blog must be cautious when mixing cliched metaphors."

While a window can be broken whether clean or dirty, the pun mixed with the metaphor is what escaped you. To clean the glass of a glass house and to clean out the corrupt people in the Republican glass house is the pun. To throw stones while in any glass house is not advisable. However, if the glass of your house IS the Republican corruption, cleaning it will protect you. No reason to throw stones at a house in which the stone throwers have be driven out.

Therefore, whether or not Lucas and McEnery try to throw the stones while being part of a corrupt dirty house, it will not save them to have their corruption as their defense.

It was nice to hear that Freehold is cutting back on their committee people getting health benefits. Manalapan should do the same. I lost my health coverage at work at my full time job. Why should they get full time health benefits for part time work? Anyone who campaigns on cutting health benefits will have my vote regardless of political party.

If you really want to see who gets what, check to see who pays how much in property taxes in this town. The answer may shock you.

Anonymous said...

As far as the issue raised with respect to property taxes, according to public records, Andrew Lucas pays something in the area of $30 per year - YES, $30 PER YEAR - because he lives on land that is considered a "farm," all while we have to scrape pennies together every month in order to pay our tax bill. And then there are the rumors that he doesn't even live in Town? Could this be a 21st Century version of taxation without representation? Either way, we need to vote this fraud out of office. It all starts here and it all starts today - Election Day is just around the corner.

I would have to think that if the sitting mayor of a town doesn't even live in that town, that would be grounds for immediate removal from office. That is my opinion, because I do not know where he lives. However, this I can say with absolute certainty - if he is being paid with taxpayer dollars and receiving costly full health benefits and is only paying $30 dollars for property taxes as you claim, then yes that person needs to pay their fair share. Please somebody deliver absolute proof of this. I for one would like to know.
