Manalapan GOP Apparently Breaking Ranks On Bloggers

You knew back in January when da Queen Mayor blamed da reason that people don't want to volunteer on da bloggers, a story first exposed by daTruthSquad, this was going to be da public relations theme of politics in Manalapan. Of course, telling longtime active volunteers their services are no longer required and bringing in people personally appointed by da Queen Mayor has absolutely nothing to do with it, at least that's what we're told by da politicians.

Since that coordinated effort began, we've heard from 2 former mayors and Queen supports damning comments made in forums, and even da local Snoozepaper chimed in on da topic.

DaTruthSquad wonders what they're going to say when they find out a blogger wants to be on da Manalapan Township Committee?

Call him "Blogger Bill" Garcia. He's a Republican, or at least he is now. And he's 1 of 4 GOP'ers who want da chance to face off against da Queen and whoever runs with her.

Only in Manalapan can da politicians hand out subpoenas like candy through their "Manalapan Legal Dream Team" to find out da identity of a certain blogger and whoever leaves comments on that blog, and now they may have to potentially face a blogger in da upcoming election!

Yes, my TruthTellers - this IS America.

DaTruthSquad checked out da "Blogger Bill" blog, entitled NJCommunity. It's a nice blog. A lot of nice links - including a direct link to daTruthSquad on his blog roll (if he's looking for a daTruthSquad endorsement, he's on da right track).

Da big question for da GOP'ers is, they have 4 candidates - they only need 2 - and who will win da support of both da committee and more important, Manalapan's Grand Poobah of da GOP'ers, Steve "Iron Girth" McEnery?

Here are da 4 candidates and what is known about them:

Butch Budai: Current Manalapan Republican Club president. Very likeable guy, a hard worker and "team" player. However, will he be able to handle his campaign run by da Grand Poobah, someone who he has openly disagreed with in da past? And, will da Poobah want to have him on "his" ticket? Overall, maybe da most deserving person on da list to run. By da way, he is one of those longtime volunteers who was so unceremoniously told their volunteer services were no longer required (where was Andy Boy when volunteers were being dismissed? In Freehold?)

Steve Johnson: Former Manalapan Republican Club president. He and Budai are pound-for-pound 2 of da hardest workers and volunteers in da party. Da intangible here is Steve's lovely wife Helene. She is one of those longtime volunteers who was so unceremoniously told their volunteer services were no longer required. He also has openly had disagreements with da Poobah in da past. He also could be a potential Independent candidate is there is monkey business with da voting - and he'd be a very good candidate as a GOP'er or Independent.

Ryan Green: Current member of da Manalapan School Board. Da intangible factor for him is not only will he have da school board around his neck, but he is currently running for school board reelection right now. He can't have both. If he wins another term on da school board, he would have to immediately give that up to run for Township Committee. That may turn off a lot of voters, but it will give him some extra name recognition. Word on da GOP'er street is he is a favorite of da Poobah.

"Blogger Bill" Garcia: We know he has a love of Mike Huckabee, and he's a newcomer into this political cesspool. However, da mere fact he's a blogger could give da Democrats a lot of fodder. Remember, they've already spent months telling anyone who'll listen that bloggers are da reason volunteers and others don't want to be involved, and let's not forget "Da Township of Manalapan vs Da Mosked Man." Word on da GOP'er street is he's also a favorite of da Poobah.

Now, here's what daTruthSquad is hearing from da TruthTellers:

GOP'ers led by da Poobah want to "Go Green," but da question of da school board leaves unanswered questions mostl ikely to be answered by da Roth campaign.

Steve Johnson would make an excellent candidate, but he won't get da nomination. I think we'd see da Poobah washing Hillary Clinton's car in his driveway wearing nothing but a thong on a hot summer's day after he won da lottery and gave every penny to da Democratic charity of his choice long before he'd be seen handing out campaign literature standing next to Steve Johnson at a bus stop.

Butch would make a great candidate. He's deserving to say da least. DaTruthSquad polled da TruthTellers, and da consensus is if Butch wins and a "Poobah-supported" candidate also gets through da nominating process, look for another "split ticket" for 2008.

As for "Blogger Bill," in a way daTruthSquad is in his corner. Da reason is, he's a guy with a blog. While he hasn't been served with any subpoenas by da Manalapan Legal Dream Team, he's a blogger, and that gets points automatically with this blog.

DaTruth is, a split ticket is an extreme possibility, especially if Johnson isn't da candidate. There will be questions as to exactly when both Green and "Blogger Bill" became registered GOP'ers. There will be questions about their backing by da Poobah. There's also da lingering rumors of backroom dealings between da Democrats and GOP'ers - and if you see Butch bet bypassed by Poobah-backed candidates, then you may see a fracture within da GOP, which will be the basis for a rumor spreading like a virus, a possible GOP deal to get da Democrat Queen Mayor reelected.

We'll know very soon who will have da nomination. We'll also know very soon who will be standing in who's corner. Anyone wondering if any of these candidates are tight with da Mosked Man? What will happen if da Poobah's reported choices as candidates don't pass muster? Will any of da candidates agree with Committeeman Andy Boy they they don't oppose da closing of da State Police barracks in Wall? Will there be an Independent run by any of the 4 who don't get selected? When did Ryan Green & Blogger Bill officially register as GOP'ers? If Butch is torpedoed by a Poobah broadside, how will this affect da GOP'er club?

DaTruthSquad will follow this election, and bring you daTruth no matter what any political attack ads say or coupon clippers claim.

An that's daTruth.

Actually, you missed Saturday morning's meeting. There, McEnery trucked in 12 ringers to be "county committeepeople". They are people no one has ever seen before. Can you say "fixed election?" Not surprisingly, they formed the difference, giving the "county committee" nod to Green and Garcia over two people who have worked hard for the republicans over the years, Steve Johnson and Butch. Does it stink to high heaven? You bet. Is that a surprise coming from McEnery? Not on your life. McEnery has been doing these dirty tricks to keep control for four years now, causing dozens of hard working republicans to simply walk away. This time, though, he may finally have put the nail in his own coffin. There are a lot of even old timers who don't like McEnery's strategy of picking a day when he knew Butch wouldn't be available, and which also happens to be Holy Saturday, meaning a number of other members of the county committee -- real members, not the shills trucked in by McEnery -- wouldn't be available. Just so that you understand, the number of votes Garcia got from county committee members other than McEnery, Lucas and the shills? Three. That's it. Only three people of the real county committee wanted Garcia to be elected. Oh, by the way. Neither Green or Garcia were even republicans before last month. Oh McEnery, you've done it again.

The good part is that we'll be rid of Green on the school board, too. Word is going to travel fast that Green isn't going to serve on the school board, because he's going to run for township committee. By the way, does anybody know if it's even legal for a school board member to run as a candidate from a political party while serving on the school board? That might be very interesting to learn.

Anonymous said...

You can be on the school board, and you can run for township committee, but if you win TC you have to resign the school board.

Worse, if you're on the school board, and you run for reelection and win, you can stay on the board and run for TC but you then have to resign if you win.

As a voter, you come across looking like a career politician who just wasted my time in the school board election.

Anonymous said...

Personally, I like Ryan Green on the school board, but his timing stinks.

Anonymous said...

My personal belief is that his self-serving unbridled ambition will cause Ryan to lose both elections.

Anonymous said...

Are you kidding? He is going to be elected to the school board and spend all his time running for the townshit committee?

Sounds like Cassgrande. Take a job as township attorney which she had never done before and run for the assembly. Obviously Puharic made a her backroom deal with her daddy to get a great job if she were elected.

What backroom deal did Green make with McEnery?

McEnema quote

by aMalcontent, 3/24/08 12:11 ET

"My fellow County Committee members:I often look at the County Committee as a family, 800 strong, with the Chairmen being the matriarchs or patriarchs of each of the 53 families in the County the rest make up cousins, aunts uncles, brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters. All tied together with the same beliefs. Those beliefs are Republican principals on how our government and our lives should function."

I guess we have 12 new orphans in the family. 12 new orphans that decided the Republican candidates. Nice going grandpa.

As a proud Democrat, I couldn't be happier that Ryan Green and Bill Garcia will be representing the Republicans this year in Manalapan.

Congratulations Michelle Roth on your victory in November. With these 2 guys running against you, your running mate could be a fire hydrant and you'll still win by 500 votes.

Anonymous said...

When did McEnery's hand picked candidates become Republicans?

Was it February 1, February 15, or March 1?

I guess it doesn't matter anyway. It's all a part of another backroom deal.

Anonymous said...

Nobody should be complaining about the Republican choices for township committee.

At least these 2 guys live in Manalapan and don't make booty calls to Freehold to visit their wife. Already, that's an improvement.

Anonymous said...

Actually, I'm disappointed...I was looking forward to seeing Butch and Steve on Channel 77 at the debate, Butch wearing his full biker gear and Steve his cowboy hat, yelling at Michelle Roth and her running mate. That would be worth watching.....Since Butch didn't get the nod last year nor this year, does that mean that Rhoda will become the next Prez of the R club?

Anonymous said...

Butch dropped out last year to allow Lucas to run. Lucas promised to support him this year. A month later Lucas attacks Butch in public at the town meeting. What was all that about? I guess Lucas & McEnery were done with him.

Anonymous said...

you don't seriously think that the republican party is going to sit back and allow McEnery to bring in 12 ringers that no one ever saw before to override the real county committee members in this sham "nomination" to fulfull his deal with Gerry Ward, to allow Michelle Roth to be reelected, do you? The real repubicans will still have something to say. The only thing McEnery accomplished is to guarantee that Ryan loses the school board election, too.

Anonymous said...

Maybe that's the idea. Allow the Republicans to lose so Andy's deciding vote to become mayor can stay on the TC.

Just like the Mastercard commercial:

Cost at taxpayer expense for a sham lawsuit against Stu - $100,000 and climbing.

Cost for a synthetic field that raises questions about health for our kids - over $1,000,000.

Backroom deals - Priceless!

Anonymous said...

The deal last year was for Butch to step aside in favor of Susan to run, not Andrew. Butch was supposed to get 'his turn' this year. Guess McEnery and others didn't want an unelectable maverick to run and lose yet another election.

Anonymous said...

Steve Johnson and Butch Budai should follow the lead of Marlboro and establish a "Reformed Republican" party here, running against McEnerey's hand picked candidates.

Anonymous said...

According to what Butch told me, Lucas called him late in the afternoon on the day of the vote asking him to step aside so that Lucas could run, not Susan.

Whats so bad about a non-conformist anyway? We need people who care about the town and not the party bosses.

Anonymous said...

Rumor is that Green will split off like Cohen did last year. Butch will be the campaign manager that brings victory again. Call him a maverick but without him we would have had Shapiro back up there again this year.

Anonymous said...

If a sitting Committeeman who is also the Mayor has to 'ask' someone to step aside, especially so a Moskovitz shill like Cohen can run, then the Republican party in town is a lot more dysfunctional than people are aware.

Anonymous said...

Forest Gump could have run Susan's campaign last year and still beaten Shapiro. You give Butch way too much credit.

Anonymous said...

I know Butch and anyone who truly knows him knows the type of hard working team player he is. The Manalapan Republican Club wouldn't be as strong as it is without him. He is the type of person any town would be proud of to have as a representative. It is extremely unfortunate for Manalapan if he is not a candidate, especially if he wanted to be. That will be Manalapan's loss.

Anonymous said...

It was Butch who asked Covered Bridge to send a message by not voting locally. Face it, if Covered Bridge had voted for the local candidates, Shapiro and Barrack would have won.

Anonymous said...

Who was that mosked man?

Anonymous said...

"Not voting locally"? What are you smoking? Covered Bridge didn't vote for Shapiro because they were pissed that he sued his father and wouldn't stand up and explain himself. Nice try.

I saw this on the NJ.com Manalapan forum and realized that since Steve Johnson caught one of the kool aid drinkers spreading their never-ending lies, they would immediately try to erase this. At least in this forum Freedom of Speech hasn't been erased by the Gang of Three. Thanks Steve for telling the truth.

Re: Dwight D. Eisenhower by daQuotester, 3/24/08
SitDownRhoda quote; "While Steve Johnson and Tony Gennaro whine about wanting absolute proof of safety, numerous other towns are investigating the matter and feeling comfortable with installing the fields in their towns."
I have never said I was “Wanting absolute proof of safety.” NEVER! I have always said the Fieldturf field has great dangers as proven in study after study. I have always said the dangers come from the rubber crumb used in the field. I have quoted you data and provided links. You are the person who wants to let Manalapan kids take the excessive risks and get hurt at a greater rate. Shame on you! Keep quoting the lies.

The second lie you state is “Numerous other towns are investigating the matter…comfortable with installing the fields.” The reality is the towns that ARE “Investigating” are stopping production and even removing existing Fieldturf fields. The towns you are referring to are just like this town. They believed the Fieldturf sales pitch that the fields are safe. They didn’t research the dangers, or like our town, wanted the artificial turf to keep up with the Jones’.

Your only argument was the many installations world wide. Well, I have your answer. The amount of stadiums returning to grass has increased every year. Some countries have BANNED the use of rubber crumb fields. But, go ahead, let Manalapan kids be the ones hurt. SitDownRhoda, you along with members of the RAB and TWP committee will have to live with every injury, every toxic reaction, and every kid with heat exhaustion or MRSA.

I can’t stand by and sell out the children. I am truly sorry you can!

The Squad brings up a very good point. If the town committee is so against the bloggers, and Roth is running against the blogger Garcia, how will he stand a chance against the spin machine, the Transcript against him, and a split Republican party.

It's sounding more and more like a backroom deal.

Changing Times Too

It is another year of let's make a deal. How successful will the Republican candidates be? A candidate running for school board and the TC? Where does his real committment lie? Then there is the religious blogger. I respect the mans right to talk about his religious beliefs and values. But he is fodder for the Democrats. I hope this man realizes's he is a sacrificial lamb in this game called politics in Manalapan. Now the real shocker is that Don Holland is Queen Roth's running mate. The web site was up for the Democrats with their profiles, but today it is "under construction." Don Holland? What are you thinking? You fought for Freedom as a Marine and you align yourself with the Queen? Someone who spends unwitting taxpayers money on fighting the 1st amendment of US Constitution? The very document we all swore to uphold as patriots. I hope that the fact that the web site is under construction is because you changed your mind.

No, Da Mosked Man is our hero. Da truth squad is just the forum to disseminate the words and teachings of Manalapan's self appointed messiah.

self-appointed? Hardly. Look how many people claim he is responsible for absolutely everything happening in town. Lucas loses a county freeholder race and blames him for it. Shapiro loses a township committee seat he almost lost before when he wasn't even running against anyone with a campaign, and he blames him for it. When he was in office with four other people on the township committee, even though everything requires a majority vote, the inbred democrats and republicans blamed him solely for the Village Center (which, by the way would have prevented all the tax increases you've seen since). He wasn't around in 2004 when the court order was signed requiring the township to purchase or condemn the Dreyer property, but they blamed him for it. McEnery runs around saying he is going to take his job away from him. It goes on and on. The News Transcript doesn't believe anyone will read their newspaper unless there's a story or an editorial about him. When people get caught breaking the law, they blame him for blowing the whistle. When they don't get caught, he "must" have had something to do with that, too. It's really comical how the political midgets running both parties in Manalapan have turned him into the messiah. He hasn't been in office since 2001, and yet every blog is focused on him. People like Gray, Shapiro, Abraham, Ward, McEnery, Lucas, Spodak, Baratta -- how many others? -- spend morning noon and night thinking about him, seemingly to the exclusion of everything else. Self-appointed? Hardly. Proclaimed -- by the leadership of both parties and the local ad clipper.

I agree. Every time one of these baboons goes online or writes an editorial focused on him, they only prove the point that he is clearly the most important person in Manalapan, without even having to have an official position. There is no one like him in any town in the area that's able to have everyone in both parties and the newspaper constantly focused on him. And remember, it really has been seven years since he was in office. Does anyone even remember Jim Gray? He was in office for fifteen years. Does anyone remember any of the other people who have come and gone from the township committee over the years? Two years from now, no one will ever have heard of Shapiro or Lucas or Roth, but I guarantee you, Stu will still be on the front page just asking the News Transcript to spell his name right.

Ridding yourself of cancer requires a singular focus!!

I don't live in Manalapan (glad about that) but I have a question I'd love a straight answer to.

Why is everything in your town the fault of one person? Where was the town attorney after 2001 regarding this Village? Who was the engineer before and after this land issue lawsuit was started? Why did a former mayor discover all of the problems and not any people who were employed as town professionals?

It seems to me your town has more problems other than just one guy who everybody seems to blame.

One way to look at it, is cancer cells all unite to attempt to defeat the chemotherapy. From what I can see, he's not the cancer, he's the cure. He wasn't there when $5,000 disappeared from town hall. He wasn't there when taxes were increased 28% -- they were lowered every year he was in office. He wasn't there when the democrats imploded with Shapiro trying to destroy Cozzolino, and Scherer and everyone else he disagreed with. He wasn't there when the democrats sold their sole to Norman Kauff who has been running Manalapan ever since. He wasn't there when Manalapan had a $1.7 million dollar deficit. He wasn't there during Michelle Roth's anti-Italian rant. He wasn't there when the township entered into a court order allowing themselves to be required to acquire the Dreyer property with the oil tank in 2004. He wasn't there when Eric Abraham was appointed to the WMUA, who turned around and gave Frank Abate a whopping raise right after 12,000,000 dollars disappeared and right before Abate went to jail. He wasn't there when Manalapan let Hovnanian build townhouses on what was supposed to be commercial property that would have reduced our taxes. Yet, HE'S the cancer. LOL. All is relative. To the vermin, the exterminator is the devil.

good analysis. Let's take it a step further. 2004 - Stu wasn't in office or the township attorney. It was Michelle Roth's first year on the township committee. That was the year Manalapan was heading to insolvency. Michelle agreed to the court order requiring Manalapan to acquire the oil contaminated property she is now suing Stu over. Stu wasn't there then. Michelle Roth lost her bid for reelection. In 2005, Stu was there, Michelle wasn't. Taxes were cut and the surplus was increased; insolvency was avoided. But, McEnery destroyed the republican party, letting Michelle stroll right back in for her second year in 2006. In 2006, the township had it's biggest deficit ever -- $1.7 million dollars. And that was a year where there was no meaningful tax cut either. That was also the year Michelle tried to link Locricchio to other Italians who had been convicted of crimes, solely on the basis of his ethnic heritage. Then came 2007, Michelle's third year in office. Stu wasn't there either. The township had a 28% tax hike thanks to Princeton's dumbest graduate ever having no clue how to manage a budget as mayor. Two township committee members were rendered virtually non-existent because Michelle couldn't get along with them. And don't forget how she antagonized the Orthodox Jews in the area by trying to block the Eruv, something every other municipality in the area passed without any conflict. There aren't too many people she does get along with. Now it's 2008. We have a rookie administrator, a rookie chief financial officer, a rookie township attorney, a rookie recreation director, and Michelle isn't done yet. She's working hard to get rid of the police chief, too. In other words, there is a dramatic drop in experience and competence in town hall due largely to Michelle's own hatred for anyone and anything and inability to get along with Italians, Africans, fellow Jews, you name it. Is it any wonder that some "anonymous" soul keeps posting trying to blame Stu for the unprecedented failures by Michelle in her four years of office? Gee, I wonder who it could be that is trying to shift the blame to Stu?

madison nj, yet another town putting in artificial turf because evryone is doing it. Yet the main installer of those fields has had to file a complaint in Federal court against their material provider for supplying lesser quality materials than signed for. Makes one wonder, is running with the lemmings really a good thing. Also wonder just how many FieldTurf fields in NJ have prematurely aged.
